To fence you will need the following equipment:
- Protective clothing: glove, mask, jacket, breeches and under plastron.
- Body wires.
- Fencing Wheelchair.
Protective equipment will need to be up to current safety standards.The fencing chair will need to conform to the rules laid down for wheelchair fencing.
Wheelchair fencing frames cost upwards of £3,000 however several clubs and centres (notably Stoke Mandeville, Leon Paul London, and Durham University) already have these. In the case that a club or centre is not locally available, funding can be sought to meet the cost of the frame and associated equipment required.
